Good Friday
This is the most solemn day in the Christian calendar.

Christians remember how the innocent Jesus was condemned to die the humiliating death of a criminal, having carried his own instrument of execution, the cross, through the streets of Jerusalem.

Traditionally Christians fast or at least abstain from meat on Good Friday.

Jesus is said to have hung on the cross for three hours and many churches hold long services to remember this. Services might include readings about Jesus' sufferings and solemn hymns. Roman Catholic services include veneration of the cross, where people line up to kiss the feet of a statue Jesus on the cross.

Visit St. Nicholas Church in Chiswick to see how they celebrated Good Friday.
